Soumitra Dutta suggests two prompts for innovation: technological push, where new technologies create whole new industries, and market pull, where existing technology is cleverly combined to create viable market solutions. In India today, there are many innovative market pull solutions. Dutta argues that in order to maintain ground on a global stage, India should increase investment in original research, development, and production of new technologies.
  Tryst is the annual science and technology festival of IIT Delhi. 
Over the years, it has emerged as one of the biggest festivals of its kind in India.

Finally, highly effective operating models must be designed to manage the transformation into a more agile, flexible, and efficient engineering organization.
